new year

We’re not just dreamers, we’re reality makers

Style changes with every passing year. If you look at photos of yourself from 2010, you’ll see what I mean and you’ll be able to tell just how much has happened these past two years. It’s as if memories keep getting more dense and are wondering towards new parts of the brain that still need to be explored.

Beauty lies in all the details we have conquered over the years. The flaws we have polished and the small truths we have kept to ourselves influence us to become better people. We’re no longer kids on a high street to the big city, we ARE the big city. And this is just the beginning of even better adult stories.

Dear readers, you have accompanied me through this wonderful online journey for the past 5 years and 3 languages. I can only thank you for that and promise that there is a lot more to be xPRimented in the following days, months and years on this little home of my thoughts. So put on a pair of riding boots, buckle up and let’s head to the west (and best) part of our lives!

See you all healthy and beautiful in 2013!

2011, here we are

How come every new year starts with a bunch of questions? Is it because you have the feeling of being more powerful, more able to change stuff you didn’t manage to solve in the previous years? Is it because, in some ways, you feel as if every new year is a new chance to start being different, maybe even turn into a better version of yourself?

2011 welcomed me in the most beautiful way possible: with fireworks and the Viennese waltz, with a lot of new hopes and dreams, as well as the ones that weren’t completely fulfilled until the end of the former decade. A new opportunity arises, turning the “kids” I’ve known for years into real grown ups (having grown up wishes with a twist) and making me realise that I’m not that much of a “kid” myself. Having a job experience that constantly challenges me to learn about the people that work in big companies made me sort out some options I had planned for my future. For instance, I’m trying to focus more on the way a new company can be created and developed from a zero standpoint. But since I want to do it right, first I need to accomplish more in my other fields of interest.

What I would suggest to anyone reading this article (myserf included): prioritise. If you leave out a very important aspect of your life when making (and fulfilling) your new year’s resolution, you might find your image (public persona, so to say) drifting apart from who you actually are or who you want to be. Be careful when making wishes, cause sometimes they might actually come true in a different way than expected.

I chose 2011 to be the year I focus on myself. My passions, my music, my works, my body and…of course, my soul. Plus my driver’s licence, since I’ve been meaning to do that in 2009 and didn’t make it through.

What is your word of the year?

it can only go up

Long time, no new posts. And now there’s Christmas coming up, so there’ll be even less time to write from Sibiu or Vienna. That’s why I considered giving you the most valuable Christmas gift I could find somewhere deep inside my heart.

It’s a lesson some people never acknowledge. They skipped that class and didn’t even think about getting the notes from somebody else. It’s a lesson some people blame you for learning by heart. A bunch of simple words that can change everything you once knew about life, can make you never look back on your past and blame yourself for stuff that you’ve already done and can’t turn back.

This is called the gift of “moving on”. Two years ago, a person said these words to me and broke my heart, but helped my spirit grow a lot. If you see that it makes no sense to go back where you used to be, then “move on”. If you believe that there’s no point in trying to make a relationship go, it’s time to “move on”. If everything around you sucks and nothing could go worse, “move on” and get better.

If you don’t like reading this blog, “move on”. But if you do like it, please comment below.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
